Tia studied and taught yoga and meditation for 10 years, discovering a huge connection between mindfulness and Creative expression.  This led to her founding UnlockYourBlock, a practical programme aimed at promoting Creativity, Empowerment, Powerful Communication, Stillness & Wellness via timeless skills & tools necessary to embody this way of living. UYB rests on the strong belief and scientific proof, that in order to fully express our creative potential, including our ability to speak in front of crowds, it is essential to nurture our mind and body, via a practice of mindfulness, stress-free living, work-life balance, and overall wellbeing.

Starting next Monday 19th April we’re launching our very first AD-Celerate Week - an intensive #training #programme designed to hone our AD-Cademy students #employability skills and get them ready to kick start their #career in the #creative industries.

With two interactive and hands-on #sessions a day delivered by some of the brightest minds in the industry we’ll be covering everything from what skills are looked for in the #advertising #industry through to how to master the art of #networking and stand out from the crowd when applying for #jobs.

The students will come away with the #confidence and #work-ready #mindset to go out there and land their #dreamjob and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome our first AD-Celerate Week cohort next Monday!

Brixton Finishing School alumni unveil #BrixtonRising campaign on 40th anniversary of Brixton Uprising. 

The campaign coincides with the anniversary of the April 1981 riots in Brixton.  Forty years on from the Brixton riots, The black youth unemployment rate NOW is the same due to the systemic and structural inequalities exposed by C19. 

Between October and December 2020, 41.6% of black people aged 16-24 were unemployed – the highest rate since the last financial crisis, Guardian analysis of data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) reveals. Unemployment among white workers of the same age stood at to 12.4%.
 
Brixton Finishing School, the disruptor scheme that seeks to diversify entry-level talent in adland, has launched a campaign to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the Brixton Uprising.
 
#BrixtonRising aims to reclaim the narrative of entry-level talent from a variety of cultural backgrounds by shining the spotlight on 40 recent talents to graduate from the school, highlighting their early successes within the industry.

The #BrixtonRising campaign has been created by Brixton Finishing School alumni to mark the 40th anniversary of The Brixton Uprising. 
From a junior strategist at Rapp, programmatic activation executive at Manning Gottleib and nanny at Mother to an art director at CDM, marketing assistant at KFC, production exec at LEGO Group and a copywriter at Amazon, all of the young people featured in the #BrixtonRising campaign have graduated from the school within the past four years. 
Created in house by Keda Bamber and Demi Chang, graduates from Brixton Finishing School’s Class of 2020, the campaign will be amplified by support from the programme’s mentors and partners.
This month marks the anniversary of 40 years since the Brixton Uprising and the subsequent publication of Lord Scarman’s report and its commentary on institutional racism. Four decades on, we have another report that does not accurately represent the lived experiences of our young people.
With our #BrixtonRising campaign, we want to place the narrative clearly on the talents that deserve it – the talents that are breaking into our industry, enriching it with their dynamism and keeping it future-fit and relevant. Working life on average spans four decades. Our graduates are at the beginning of this journey. It is up to us, the industry, to unite and drive positive change and make the next 40 years count. We cannot drag our feet any longer.

A SDR will join the Epsilon new business development team and work closely with their colleagues to generate meetings for our Business Development and Client Development Teams to attend.
