Brixton Finishing School acts as an engine of change for the industry, our partner organisations and those that participate in our programs. It connects those in industry with those traditionally held outside of it, in a positive, pan industry wide movement of actions (not words).

Organisational cultures are complex patterns of relationships, packed with legacies from much less equitable times but also constantly evolving. We work to dissolve the myth of societal meritocracy that lingers in our workspaces. Privilege, connections and a certain set of physical characteristics are much more likely to elevate you than hard work and talent. By spending quality time with those from communities different from your own, elusive blind spots are highlighted and bias pennies drop.

Brixton Finishing School allows those within to unify and work positivity to break down barriers to entry and drive inclusive change on a scale that would not be possible if they worked in singular business entities alone.

Gartner Analysis shows 3 out of 4 employees expect their employer to take a view on societal and political debates. Employee engagement can drop by a third if employees are disappointed by an employer's political or social stance.

By engaging our partner’s workforces in our change making movement we allow employees to gain ownership of and deliver energy around the change they want to see. This makes them more satisfied (and supports retention!)

This energy can be expressed in a host of positive ways - from mentoring (and being mentored), delivering teaching, school ADventure talks, experiences and resources.
